Vintage Slag Glass Pendant Ceiling Light Fixture

The term "slag glass" refers to glass created from waste or "slag" formed during the smelting of iron ore. This discarded glass was reused and turned into ornamental pieces, giving it a distinct and appealing appearance. The glass has a unique marbled or streaked appearance. Slag glass has a long history dating back to the late 1800s, and it is connected with the Art Nouveau and Victorian eras. Its popularity would subsequently surge again in the 1960s.

The fixture has been restored and features a new porcelain socket, wires, Etc. The fixture has been cleaned and detailed and includes mounting hardware for a convenient installation.

Measurements: The fixture measures 37 inches tall, 9 1/4 inches at its widest point.

Condition: The fixture features a new porcelain socket, wire, aged ground wire, antique brass chain, antique brass ceiling canopy, antique brass thumbscrews, mounting bracket, and installation hardware. The fixture shows its antiquity with only minor inconsistencies.

Electrical: The fixture uses a standard medium base socket. Suitable for dry conditions. Use a 60-watt bulb. Bulb not included.
