Vintage Flush Mount Uranium Glazed Ceiling Light Fixture

$ 269.99

This beautiful antique ceiling light fixture is made of uranium glass glazed porcelain and features a classic Art Deco design. The unique finish found in the piece's glazing is often called uranium glass or Vaseline glass. The glass gained popularity in the late 19th century and continued into the 20th century. It gets its name because it contains small amounts of uranium oxide, which gives the glass a characteristic yellow or greenish-yellow glow under ultraviolet (UV) light. The fixture has been restored and features new wiring, sockets, etc. It has been cleaned and detailed and is ready to install.

Measurements: The fixture is 12 inches long, 6 1/8 inches wide, and 3 1/2 inches tall (not including the height of the bulbs.)

Condition: The fixture features new porcelain sockets, mounting bracket, wires, wire sheathing, and installation hardware. The vintage fixture shows its antiquity with inconsistencies, including all but completely worn gold pinstriping, tiny age spots, and mild crazing in the uranium-glazed finish.

Electrical: The fixture uses a standard medium base socket. Use 60-watt bulbs. The bulbs are not included. Suitable for dry locations.
