Made in the 1930s during the height of Depression-era decorating — when American homes demanded beauty on a budget — this antique semi-flush ceiling fixture has survived nearly a century with its character fully intact. The pressed peach art deco glass shade. The hand-glazed porcelain canopy. The scalloped edges that were never an accident, always a decision.

It belongs in a room that deserves something real.

What You're Looking At

This vintage art deco ceiling light features a pressed glass shade in a warm peach tone — scalloped at the rim, paneled with fine ribs running top to bottom, and finished at the base with a molded floral medallion. Unlit, it reads as soft blush. Switch it on, and it throws warm amber light — the kind that makes a room feel lived-in and unhurried.

The canopy is white porcelain, hand-glazed with a small painted flower and trailing vine in ochre, blue, and green. Tactile. The sort of detail a machine won't bother with.

A natural fit for craftsman bungalows, Tudor revivals, colonial revivals, and any interior where period-correct lighting matters.

Condition 

This is a 90-year-old fixture. It shows its age, and we won't dress that up.

 *Small nick and an approximately 1-inch fracture along the glass edge — non-structural, does not affect use

 *Minor chips and flea bites on the shade and porcelain

 *Typical pinholes and light wear in the enameled finish

What's been replaced is worth noting: new socket, new wiring and wire sheathing, new mounting bracket, nickel thumb nuts, and beaded chain. It has also been cleaned and detailed throughout.

It is ready to hang. It is not pretending to be new.
